Connectors – How They Work?

iLangL integrates with customer’s CMS with the help of connector.

Connectors are a bridge between customer’s website and translation agency that enable direct content exchange and translation. The connectors we offer are basically a set of rules that command our core to integrate with an external data source (e.g. customer or translation agency website in our case). Since we do not depend on CMS technologies, it does not matter whether the content is PHP, Java or .Net based. For more info on how iLangL connector works, please check a dedicated article here.

Connectors follow a set of rules in order to prove their true worth. These rules include:

  1. Intact Content Format - iLangL connector keeps your pre-existent content safe and secure leaving it absolutely intact no matter what. The connector is designed to support the system it is being used for. If customer’s system supports versioning, the connector will import the translated content in form of a new version.
  2. User-friendly Interface - iLangL connectors do not require any technical background and are designed so that any user could import/export content easily. The simple rule of ‘what you see is what you order’ applies.
  3. Time-efficient Import - One of iLangL’s top priorities is saving user’s time and resources. With iLangL connector, manager doesn’t have to waste time and effort on preparing target content for import. If the translated content is not present in the customer’s system, the connector will automatically create it.

iLangL supports the following data sources:

  • Relational databases including MS Sql, MySql, Oracle, Firebird, DB2UDF, SQLITE, PostGresQL, etc.
  • Web sources including JSON, REST API, XML, HTML, SOAP, etc.
  • Xml based files via FTP folders.
  • The vast majority of other sources that enjoy a public interface.
